This legendary Institute has glorious past of 56 years having been started on 19-11-1956 under private management in a donated building by Smt. Anantha laxmi, W/o. Late Akarapu Narsingam, Warangal with the intake capacity of 30 ( Now Increased - 63  ( 50 + 13 EWS ) with the timely efforts of Ayurveda Enthusiasts like P.V. Narsimha Rao, Hon’ble Minister for external affairs, Govt. of India, who responsible for taking over of this institution by the State Govt. Mudumbai Ramanuja Charyulu, Sri. T. Hayagreeva Chary and Bhandari Chandramouleeshawar Rao, Advovate, Dr. T. Narsimha Charya, Dr. M. Chinnaveera Bhadraiah, Ch. Bhasker Lingam Shastry, Sri. J. Laxminarayana, Advocate. And this Institution was affiliated to Osmania University Hyderabad on 02-11-1968 the college had been completely absorbed and taken over by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for further course of management which is affiliated Kakatiya University, Warangal in 1987 the affiliation of the college was rransferred to Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and the admission in B.A.M.S. is through EAMCET in the year 1978 the syllabus of CCIM has been introduced to BAMS students. The BAMS degree is being given by KNR University of Health Sciences after successful completion of 4 ½ year study and 1 year internship. The annual intake capacity of students is 30 for UG and enhanced to 50 from 2007 onwards. This college is having 14 departments along with Laboratories, Library, Hostels (Boys & Girls) and Herbal Garden consist of 460 Medicinal Plants spreaded in 5.19 Acers of Government land and an attaqched 100 bedded Teaching Hospital constructed at Old Grain Market premises in 2 Acres of land situated in heart of the city i.e. nearby Railway & Bus stations with well equipped OP&IP units by providing better health facilities this region public through Ayurveda system of medicine. This college is working under the administrative control of Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (Department of AYUSH).

II. COLLEGE STRUCTURE:-
This College is providing BAMS 4 ½ years course + 1 year Internship which contains 5 ½ year total course and Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal, Telangana will award the Certificate as an affiliated University

The College is offering 63 seats including one central Govt. Seat.

Admission Qualification:-
For 63 seats the Govt. of Telangana., will conduct in common entrance test  for candidates those who have passed the 10+2 with Biological Sciences or its equivalent i.e Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology with 50% of aggregate marks in optional subjects. For foreign students are also eligible those who are having the equivalent qualifications approved by any University will be allowed.

Fee structure:-
The payment of fee will be as per norms of affiliated KNR University of Health Sciences and Govt. of Telangana., from Time to time.

Migration of admission:-
The students may be allowed to take the migration from one college to another college to continue their studies after passing of 1st Professional course only, failures will not be allowed. For migration the students shall obtain the mutual consent of both colleges and University after obtaining NOC from Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences with the permission of the Commissioner, Department of AYUSH, Hyderabad, the Government of Telangana, will issue the G.O., of transfer, vide G.O.Ms.No. 308/HM&FW(R.1), Deptt. Dt. 12/8/1997.

Migration of Internship:-
Migration it will only be allowed after seeking of consent from both colleges and Universities, in case of migration is between to different Universities and Colleges. Migration is allowed form College to College, it is enough to sought consent of both colleges and the migration will be accepted by the University of the production of the character Certificate issued by the institute and application forwarded by the College and University with NOC as case may be vide G.O.Ms.No. 402, HM&FW (R.1) Deptt. Dt. 17/09/1992.

Students seeking transfer outside the state shall additionally submit the NOC from University from whose jurisdiction transfer is sought for and also follow the procedure mentioned above.

III. TEACHING DEPARTMENTS;-
This college is running with 14 departments of BAMS UG course (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) along with prescribed cadre strength of Teaching faculty as per the norms of CCIM and relevant state Govt. orders vide G.I.Ms.No. 112, Fin (SMPC), Deptt., Dt. 19/04/2008 and G.O.Rt.No. 810/HM&FW(R.2) Deptt., Dt. 04/07/2008
